She was born in Caldwell County, the daughter of the late Atwell “Slim” and Treva Bolick Austin. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death her son, Matthew “Bugman” Lee Lambert; stepdad, Bennie G. Young Sr.; brother, David Maurel; and father-in-law, John “Bob” Frank Lambert.
Mrs. Lambert is survived by her husband of 45 years, Mr. Jack Lee Lambert; son, Joshua Lambert and wife Angela of Mooresville, grandson, Josh Jr, who she dearly loved and adored; mother-in-law Addie “Granny” Chester Lambert; brother, Eric Austin and wife Brenda; sisters, Faye Edwards and husband Leonard, Laura Hammerick and husband Ray, Gloria Robinson and husband Don; brother-in-law, John Lambert and wife Linda; sisters-in-law, Nina Soots and husband Mike, Celeste Shoemake and husband Mike; numerous nieces & nephews, great nieces & nephews, and great great nieces & nephews; her chuch family, who she considered true family; and all the children she taught in Sunday School.
Mrs. Lambert was a charter member of the Ladies Auxiliary Post 392 where she served as President for a brief time. She was a Sunday School teacher for many years where she taught the preprimary class. Mrs. Lambert loved her class and all the helpers and loved to teach them about Jesus.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 12, 2021, with Rev. Ronnie Miller officiating, at Pisgah Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Pendry’s Funeral Home.
