John Edward Beck Jr.

Jack was born in Columbus, Ohio, before moving to Pinellas Park, Florida in 1968 and stayed there until 2007 when he and his wife Barbara moved to Lenoir. He was an Army veteran. He worked for the US Postal Service from 1968 until 1988. He was a member of Hudson First Baptist Church. Jack was a loving, devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years Barbara Beck, his daughters Tara Beck (partner Deric), Tammy Beck (partner Frank), and Tiffany Beck (partner Robert), his grandchildren Matt, Cody, Kourtney, Kenzie, and Katlyn, his great-grandchildren Easton, Camden, Josiah, Hazel, and Lyric, his sister Mary Hunt (partner Randy), and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents John and Martha Beck, his sisters Beatrice George, Irma Earnhardt, Stella Damann, and Jane Powell, and several nieces and nephews.

The burial with military honors will be held Saturday, December 30th at 2:00 PM at Sardis Cemetery, 352 Central St., Hudson, North Carolina 28638, across from Hudson First Baptist Church.

A memorial service will follow at 2:30 PM Saturday, December 30th at Hudson First Baptist Church.
