Jeffery Lynn Johnson "Jeff"

He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Grady and Mamie McCall and paternal grandparents, Sam Sr. and Juanita Johnson.

Mr. Johnson was a loving and devoted husband, father and son. He was employed by AT&T and was a member of Center Grove Baptist Church. He was a 1981 graduate of West Caldwell High School and was a member of the football team. After High School, he attended CCC&TI and Catawba Valley Community College. Jeff was a Boy Scout Leader, and his son was an Eagle Scout. He also was a car owner for Johnson Motor Sports, and his son Ethan was the driver. They raced at Hickory Motor Speedway. Jeff was loved by all the drivers and crew members there. He was a very special man to all who knew him, loved and respected, and will be greatly missed.

Anita Walker Johnson, of the home, son, Ethan Johnson, of the home, brother Chris Johnson and wife Donna of Hickory, a sister, Cynthia Crotts and husband Chris of Baton, mother and father-in-law, Ted and Lou Walker of Granite Falls, sister-in-law, Barbara Rash and husband Roger, five nieces and nephews and one great niece.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home with Reverend Doug Howell and Reverend Rick Safriet officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday, January 8, 2018 at Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.

Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Johnson, Brian Mundy, Barry Stallings, Jacob Crotts, Jason Carlton, Randy Truett, Willie Kincaid, David Barlow, BJ Fore, Jerry Whisnant and honorary pallbearers will be Nicolas Crotts and Carl Gilbert Jr.
