Mr. Coffey was born on August 22, 1949 in Caldwell County to the late James Coffey and Pauline Scott Coffey.
James was a Vietnam Veteran. He loved his family along with his pets; Cocoa, Foxy, Hershey, Lucky and Faith. He worked for Newton Transportation for a number of years and was known as “Wild Man” over the cb radio.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Elizabeth Ann Kirby of the home, sons; James David Coffey and domestic partner Tonya, Tim Wade Kirby, David Alan Kirby and wife Ashley along with one grandson, Christopher and one on the way.
A Celebration of James Life will be held on Wednesday, November 22, at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of Pendry's Lenoir Funeral Home with the Rev. Gurny Robbins officiating.
