Inez Cecil White

Dr. Inez Cecil Jones White, age 86, of Boone, North Carolina passed away at Glenbridge Health and Rehab on Wednesday, August 30, 2023. Dr. White was born on December 27, 1936, to the late James and Bertha Jones. She was the eldest of four children and they grew up in the West End community of Lenoir on Wheeler Street.

She is survived by her sisters Elois Harper of Lenoir and Edna Jones of Washington, D.C., her sister-in-law Saundra Jones of Lenoir, her nephews Ronald Harper of Lenoir and Wesley Harper of Lenoir, her niece Janiene Jones Jones of Fort Washington, MD, and numerous extended family members.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother John Alphonso Jones and her niece Joy Alicia Jones.

Inez will be remembered for her abundant generosity and loving spirit. She was known for being very bright, studious, and helpful to her siblings. Although a noted doctor of medicine, family was always first in her heart. She had an immeasurable gift of loving and giving. When she caught a glimpse of you, she held it and smiled, charming your heart. She was the anchor of her family and she will be dearly missed.

A receiving of friends for Inez will be held Monday, September 4, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Pendry's Lenoir Funeral Home, 522 Wilkesboro Blvd SE, Lenoir, North Carolina 28645, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM.

Burial will follow the service at Blue Ridge Memorial Park in Lenoir.
