She was born in Caldwell County on January 17, 1938 to the late Everett Robbins and Ruth Beard Robbins. Mrs. Watson was a very active member of Community Baptist Church and volunteered with hospice for many years. She graduated from Gamewell High School in 1956 and then went to Clevenger Business College where she received an Associate Degree. Helen retired from Broyhill's main office after 44 years as a Dealer Service Traffic Executive.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Watson; one daughter, Cynthia Renee Watson; and one sister, Polly Millwood.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Jeffrey Paul Watson and wife Debra of Lenoir; one grandson, Chad Everette Watson of Lenoir; her beloved puppies; Jett and Rosscoe, a niece, Sandy Price and husband Brian of Lenoir, great niece Amy Robinson Harbeson along with a host of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service honoring Mrs. Watson's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at Community Baptist Church with Rev. Waitsel Beard officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Chad Watson, Keith Pritchard, Brian Price, Billy Millwood Jr, Bill Millwood Sr, Cody Cox and Wesley Chester.
