Our precious father, son, pawpaw, brother and friend to many Harvey Gwyn Wagoner 61 of Lenoir got his healing after a long courageous battle with lung cancer on Friday October 7th 2022 surrounded by his family at Amorem Hospice.
Harvey was born on March 12th 1961 in Caldwell County to the late Harlie Clifford Wagoner and Virginia “Shirley” Benge Wagoner of Hudson.
Those left to honor and cherish his memory along with his mother, his children April Wagner of Lenoir, Cherdawna Brittain of Hudson, Harvey Wagoner Jr. wife Crystal of Ferguson and Ashely Wagoner fiancé Allen Ryne of Stony Point. Grandchildren Sheldon, Skylar and Tori Wagner, Alisha Munson, Candace and Brooklyn Brittain, Hunter and Samaria Wagoner, Pyton and Gunner Carrigan and Braxton Rhyne. Great grandchildren Cambree, Kaisyn and Vivianna. Two sister’s Virginia Lackey husband Scott, Lori Wagoner and one brother Clarence Wagoner along with multiple nieces and nephews.
Harvey was the owner of Wagoner Logging for many years. He loved to be outside working.
If there was one thing to be said about Harvey is that when you saw him you always seen him with a smile on his face whether it was while he was out riding the roads, or at his favorite place Aj’s Steakhouse with his friends. No matter where he went he had a friend! Harvey never failed to let his children and grandchildren know how much he cared, loved and cherished them. He got the new nickname by his first great granddaughter “Pawpaw squishy face”. Harvey has shown such a courageous fight not only battling cancer but he never gave up after multiple logging accidents and massive heart attack in 2020. To his family he was tougher than nails and the bravest person we knew.
Funeral services for Mr. Wagoner will be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of Pendry’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Brian Dula and Rev. Billy Wagoner officiating at the services.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home at Pendry’s Funeral Home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Harvey Wagoner Jr., Clarence Wagoner, Sheldon Wagner, Hunter Wagoner,Samaria Wagoner, Tori Wagner, Mike Culler and Terry Miller. Honorary pallbearers will be Bo Keever, Bill Smith and grandson’s.
