Gwyn was born in Caldwell County to Ernest and Daisy Fulbright Hall. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the United States Army and then serving in the National Guard. Gwyn worked for many years in the furniture industry and was a member of the Hudson First Baptist Church. Gwyn enjoyed working in his garden and watching racing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Carroll Hall; and a sister, Rachel Caldwell.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Peggy Turner Hall; two daughters, Tammy Baker and Angie Hall; two sons, Mark Hall and Todd Hall, wife Loretta; a grandson, Andrew Baker, wife Kelly; Five granddaughters, Caitlin Hall, Chastan Watts, husband Jeremy, Chelsea Hart, husband Clifton, Julia Clark, fiancé Paul Gibbs, and Caroline Baker; two great granddaughters, Olivia Gibbs and Hannah Baker; two brothers, Thad Hall and Eddie Hall; a sister, Jearline Brown; Gwyn is also survived by numerous other relatives.
Funeral services for Mr. Hall will be held on Wednesday, September 10, 2014 in the Chapel of Pendry’s Funeral Home at 3:00 PM with Pastor Mack Jarvis and Pastor Jim Hamby officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Sardis Cemetery with military honors provided by the National Guard and the Caldwell County Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends prior to the service at the funeral home from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
