Gladys Irene Church Triplett, age 89, of Lenoir died on Monday, March 21 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care in Hudson. She was born September 20, 1926, in Forsyth County, NC, to the late Granville Church and Grace Sowards.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband W.C. (Claude) Triplett; son A.C. Triplett; 3 grandchildren Larry Triplett, Danny Huskey, and Lisa Triplett; brothers Pete Church and James Church; and sister Lucy Hodges.
She is survived by sons Roger Triplett (wife Elizabeth) of Lenoir and Kenny Triplett (wife Kathy) of Hudson; daughters Juanita Huskey of Sawmills, Patricia Ritch of Lenoir, and Claudette Crisp (husband Kenny) of Simpsonville, SC; daughter-in-law Doris Triplett of Hudson; grandchildren Sherry Gragg, Pam Meadows, Donna Guy, Kim Triplett, Keith Ritch, the Rev. Bradley Greer, Raymond Triplett, Randy Triplett, Kenley Triplett, and Frances Walsh; numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren; sister Betty Weddle (husband James); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Triplett was Baptist by faith. She will be remembered for many things, but most of all for her love, of God, life, and her family.
The family will receive friends at 1:00 on Friday, March 25 at Pendry’s Funeral Home, Lenoir. The funeral service will be held at Pendry’s at 2:00 on Friday, with the Rev. Stuart White officiating, assisted by the Rev. Bradley Greer. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Triplett’s family extends their appreciation to the staff of Lenoir Health Care and Caldwell Hospice for their care and love. Memorial donations may be made to Caldwell Hospice.
