Mr. F. H. Nichols, 80, of Lenoir entered into the gates of Heaven on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 while at Amorem, formerly Caldwell Hospice in Lenoir. F. H. was born March 9, 1941 in Wilkes County to the late Stewart and Eunice Parsons Nichols. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Finley and Dale Nichols and a sister, R. V. Eller.
F. H. was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather. He was a dedicated member of Union Grove Baptist Church and was served faithfully for as long as his health allowed. He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, and served his country well. F. H. was a member of American Legion Post 29 and he truly enjoyed going to the Caldwell Senior Center for fellowship with other seniors.
Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife of 55 years, Peggy Matthews Nichols of the home, a son, Eric Nichols of Lenoir, a grandson, Wade Nichols of Lenoir, a brother, Neal Nichols of East Bend, sisters, Tanis Propst of Yadkinville, Marthine Radford of Statesville and Anna Lou Roseman of Albany, GA. Also left to cherish his memory are numerous nieces, nephews and extended family member.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, September 26, 2021 at 5:00pm at Union Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Sam Craven and Rev. Jeff lambert officiating.
Military honors will be provided by the United States Air Force and the Caldwell County Veterans Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, from 4:00 pm until 5:00 pm at Union Grove Baptist Church.
