Edward Lamar Kanupp

Edward Lamar Kanupp, 81, of Lenoir, passed away Saturday, June 5, 2010 at his residence.

Edward was born in Catawba County to the late Russell Lee Kanupp and Blanche Miller Kanupp. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two brothers; Robert Kanupp and Richard Kanupp and two sisters; Jennie Kanupp and Margaret Kanupp.

Edward was a retired foreman from Broyhill Furniture. Edward had a love for working with wood. He was a craftsman at making grandfather clocks and furniture.

Survivors include wife of 62 years Esta Mae Johnson Kanupp of the home, four sons; Dennis Kanupp and wife Joanna of Lenoir, Roy Kanupp and wife Ramona of Lenoir, William Kanupp and wife Lydia of Vale, NC and Michael Kanupp of Lenoir, one daughter Edwana Kanupp Miller and husband Frank of Lenoir, two brothers; Jack Kanupp of Huntsville, Alabama and Bill Kanupp of Hubert North Carolina, 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 08, 2010 at Pendry’s Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. William Kanupp, Rev. Roy Kanupp, Rev. Danny Murphy, Rev. Harold Kanupp officiating. Burial will follow in Laytown Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 7 at Pendry’s Funeral Home from 6:30 pm until 8:00 pm.

Serving as pallbearers will be Charles, Jason, Brian, Taylor and Jacob Kanupp, Tony Hudson, Jason Woody and Jayro Perez.
