Dora Florine Fletcher

She is predeceased by her husband, Rev. Mack Fletcher, a daughter, Judy Denise, a son , James Mack Fletcher, a daughter, Joy Marlynn (Kim) and two sons-in-law, Ron Blume and Mark Ferguson. Surviving Mrs. Fletcher are two daughters, Janet Blume Lister (David), and Jerri Fletcher Ferguson (Mark, deceased). She is also survived by grandchildren, Jenifer Starr (Eric), Carsen Cole, Amanda Blume, Heather Lang (Henry) and great grand-children, Julea Ann Cole, Whitaker, Ellis, Lorelai Lang, Shannon, Kevin and Allison Starr as well as Theadora Blume.

Mrs. Fletcher was a graduate of Unaka High School in Elizabethton and was very involved in student activities such as the Drama club, Glee Club and the Unaka Spirit Club. She was a very talented pianist who learned to play piano using shaped notes and could transpose music instantly. She was known as the "Jitterbug Queen" in high school because she loved to dance. After high school graduation, she was offered a clerical position with the F.B.I. in Washington, DC but chose instead to marry her childhood sweetheart, Rev. Mack Fletcher. Together, they served in Music ministry for over 40 years at various churches in Tennessee, North Carolina and South Carolina. They were married for 54 years and were a real team in music ministry as well as in life.

Though she will be greatly missed, we as her family are grateful to God for His faithfulness throughout her life. We can smile knowing that now she in reunited with all the family and friends who have been waiting for her in heaven. What a reunion that must have been!

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, February 4, 2024 at Poovey's Grove Baptist Church in Granite Falls, NC. There will be a receiving of friends from 2 to 3 pm with the service beginning at 3 pm.
