David Jones

Mr. David Jones, age 77 of Lenoir, passed away Friday, September 16, 2016 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Born on April 3, 1939 in Caldwell County, he was the son of the late Booker T. Jones and Iana Ferguson Jones.

Mr. Jones attended Mitchell Chapel AME Church and had worked for Kincaid Furniture. He was a veteran of the United States Army.

He is survived by his daughter, Patricia Patterson of Winton-Salem; his son, Jeffrey Jones and his wife, Gwendolyn of Julian; five sisters, Louise Salley, Ann Ferguson, Nancy Ferguson, Marilyn Patterson and Mamie Dooley; two brothers, Johnny Jones and his wife, Creola, and Booker T. Jones, Jr. He is also survived by his five grandchildren, Ashely Johnson, Whitley Johnson, Caressa Jones, Jaden Jones and Aaron David Jones.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2:00-3:00 p.m., Thursday, September 22, 2016 at Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home. Funeral Services for Mr. Jones will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home with the Reverend Jimmy Norwood officiating.

Burial will follow in Mitchell Chapel AME Church Cemetery with Military Honors rendered by the North Carolina National Guard and the Caldwell County Veterans Honor Guard.
