Charlsie Lay Robinson, 89, of Granite Falls, passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at Gateway Rehabilitation and Health Care. She was born to the late John and Lucy Layne Lay on September 18, 1926 in Elk Valley, Tennessee. Charlsie will be greatly missed.
Along with her parents Charlsie is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years; Clarence Robinson, brothers; Charles and Ralph Lay and sister ; Murleen Lewis.
Those left to cherish her memory include her, daughters; Patty Price (husband Glen) of Lenoir, Charlene Robinson of Baton, Shirley McGillen (husband Wayne) of Granite Falls, son; Vernon Robinson of South Houston, TX, brother; Doug Lay of Kentucky, sisters; Janice Gilpin, Essie Osborne, Loretta Bentley, Estelene Compton all of Kentucky, grandchildren; Lisa Spainhour, Brian Price, Mitchell Price, and 10 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and a special family friend; Brenda Haimowitz.
Funeral Services for Charlsie will be held Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1-2 p.m. Rev. James Baker will be officiating the services. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.
