Charlie Monroe Pruitt, 79, of Hudson, went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at Glenbridge Healthcare in Boone.
Charlie was born in Greer, SC to the late Fred Pruitt and Ida Bell Brookshire Pruitt. He was retired from Kohler & Campbell Piano Company, a proud veteran of the United States Army and a member of Hudson First Baptist Church where he served as a greeter and was an ordained Deacon. He loved the outdoors and adored all children, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was loved by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and a great grandson.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 53 years, Nancy Williamson Pruitt of the home; his daughters, Stephanie Pruitt Macchia and husband Tom of Lenoir, and Regina Pruitt Jenkins and husband Rick of Hickory; his sisters, Eva Burns of West Columbia, SC, and Faye Jackson of West Columbia, SC; his grandchildren, Tommy Clawson and wife Amy of Morganton, Zack Jenkins of Granite Falls and Emily Clawson of Lenoir; his great grandchildren, Brooklyn Greene and Gabriel Clawson.
Services will be held Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at Hudson First Baptist Church at 11:30 a.m. with Reverend R. Mack Jarvis III and Reverend Wade Dellinger officiating. Burial will follow in the Sardis Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from10:00 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. at the church.
Serving as pallbearers will be Tom Macchia, Rick Jenkins, Stephen Williamson, George “Ed” Williamson, Tommy Clawson and Jerry Crump.
The family respectfully requests that memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Western North Carolina Chapter, 3800 Shamrock Dr, Charlotte, NC 28215.
