He was born September 28, 1945 in Caldwell County to the late Charles Edward Corpening Sr. and Ruby Dula Corpening.
For many years, Charles worked as a floor finisher and also was a truck driver.
In addition to his parents, Charles is preceded in death by two wives, Ann Reid Stover and Willa Jane Corpening and a brother, Humphrey Corpening.
Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Pastor Sherry Hicks and husband Anthony, of Lenoir, Robin Ann Livingston Reeves and Husband Michael,of Greensboro, Robert Harbison and wife Mollie of Saint Robert, Missouri, Mary Ann Williams, of Morganton, a Son Brothers; Venoi Corpening and wife Diane, of Lenoir and James Corpening, of Charlotte and a Sister, Natalie Corpening Johnsonn and husband Ronald, of Lenoir, numerous grand and great grandchildren along with a host of nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home Chapel at 5:00 pm on Thursday, July 19, 2018 with Pastor Sherry Hicks and Pastor Rocky Dula officiating. The family will receive friends for 1 hour prior to the service, from 4:00 to 5:00 pm at Pendry's Lenoir Funeral Home.
