Criss Boyd Wilson, 79, of Hudson passed away on Sunday, August 13, 2017 at Hickory Falls in Granite Falls.
Mr. Wilson was born March 24, 1938 in Mitchell County to the late James Ted Wilson and Ada Edwards Wilson.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Wayne Wilson, brothers, Teddy Wilson Jr., Bruce Wilson, Clarence Wilson, sisters, Willow Ray Wilson and Doris Wilson Jones.
Criss was an avid gardener, enjoyed playing the guitar, and was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church where he was a Sunday school teacher for 19 years.
Mr. Wilson was a dedicated husband of 45 years to his beloved wife, Loretta Baker Wilson.
In addition to his wife, those left to cherish his memory include his sons, Mike Wilson and wife Pamela of Morganton, Darryl Wilson of Granite Falls, Tracy Triplett and wife Diane of Hudson, Daryl Triplett and wife Sandra of Lenoir, Travis Triplett and wife Beverly of Hudson, daughter Sharon Keller and husband Charles of Hudson and Brother, Gerald Wilson of Jacksonville, Florida, Sisters, Athleen Sexton of Baltimore Maryland, Lena Farquhar of Pineville, , Madge Suddreth and husband Johnny of Maiden, Alma Fox of Lenoir, Kathy Adkins and husband Lex of Silvis, IL and a sister-in-law, Gail Wilson of Hickory.
Also left to cherish his memory are 14 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
A funeral service to honor Mr. Wilson will be held at Mt. Zion Baptist Church on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at 12:00 pm with Rev. Adam Triplett and Rev. Josh Benge officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Lenoir.
The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm at the church.
