Betty Jo Shew

Mrs. Shew was born November 15, 1938 in Caldwell County to the late Ed Beard and Louise Prestwood Beaver.

Betty Jo was a loving and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of Word in Truth Ministries and worked in the furniture industry.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Gene Whisnant, a son; Dennis Whisnant, four brothers; Jerry Beaver, Raymond Beaver, Billy Beaver, Paul Beaver and one sister, Delores Turnmire.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband Billy Shew, Daughters; Donna Lane of Hudson, Freida Whisnant of Hudson, Debbie Spann and husband Raymond of Boone, Lisa Phillips and husband Jim of Lenoir, Vickie Barnes and husband Richard of Middlesex, an only Son Terry Whisnant of Lenoir,

three sisters; Kathy Massagee, Linda Moore, and Carolyn Lee, fourteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.

A Graveside Service will be held at Mt. View Baptist Church Cemetery on Sunday, May 8, 2016 at 3:00 pm with Reverend Bill Bentley officiating.

The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Mt. View Baptist Church.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jim Phillips, Brandon Wright, Ricky Barnes, Raymond Spann, Jeremy Hall and Barry McDonald.
