Mrs. Betty Louise Watson Canter, 86, of Granite Falls passed away on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at Hickory Falls. Mrs. Canter was born December 6, 1934 in Caldwell County to the late Clarence and Gladys Cozart Watson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Ed Canter, two great grandchildren; Savanna Greene, Jasper McCullough and eight siblings.
Mrs. Canter was a dedicated mother and grandmother. Her grandchildren and her great grandchildren were the joys of her life.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Cathy McCullough of Connelly Springs, Renita Ritchie and husband Chuck of Connelly Springs, Renee Pardue and husband Curtis of Hickory, daughter-in-law, Martha Canter of Hickory, sisters, Reba Watson of Lenoir, Lana Roland of Granite Falls, a brother, Ed Watson of Lenoir.
Also left to cherish her memory are her eight grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 5, 2021 at 3:00 pm in the chapel of Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home with Rev. Shawn Davis officiating. Burial will follow the service at Blue Ridge Memorial Park in Lenoir. Serving as pallbearers will be Eddie Canter, Cash Canter, Charles Ritchie, Trenton Barlowe, Brad McCullough, Cory Canter and Easton Poplin.
The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Pendry's Funeral Home.
