Annie “Lou” Watts Walker, 81, of Granite Falls entered into her Heavenly home on Friday, May 26, 2023 while at Grace Hospital in Morganton. Lou was born March 10, 1942 in Caldwell County to the late Ira and Mattie Babbs Watts.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Jeff Johnson, a brother, Ray
Watts and his wife, Nova Jo Watts. Also a nephew, Rodney Watts.
Lou was a loving and dedicate wife, mother and grandmother. She loved her family unconditionally and was always there to support and encourage them. She also had a great love for her friends and enjoyed her time with them. She faithfully attended Baton United Methodist Church for over thirty years. Lou loved to grow flowers and spend time at the beach. Every Friday night she and her beloved husband Ted would go dancing, a time they each looked forward to spending together. Lou was a very kind person, loved by many and will be missed greatly.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of over 60 years, Ted Walker of the home, daughters , Anita Johnson of Hudson, Barbara Ann Rash and husband Roger of Baton and her precious grandchildren, Ethan Johnson of Hudson and Lauren Rash of Baton.
A funeral service to honor Lou will be held on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at 3:00 pm at Baton United Methodist Church with Rev. Rich Irwin and Rev. Allen Boliek officiating. Burial will follow the service at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Lenoir.
Serving as pallbearers will be Wilson Walker, Kenneth Walker, Clinton Walker, Joe Watson, Dale Eggers and Tyler Huskey.
The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm at the church.
