Anne Joyce Lane

Born, April 24, 1922 in Otoe County, Nebraska City, NE, she was the daughter of the late Frank Otis Simmons and Beulah Gladys Samsel Simmons.

She was a member of the East Flat Baptist Church. She loved working in her yard and garden and was a true lover of nature who enjoyed feeding and watching squirrels and birds. She loved caring for her cats. She also enjoyed reading and using her computer.

She was the wife of the late Earl Lane Jr.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Beuford C. Simmons and her two sons, Gregory Bruce Lane and Jeffrey Earl Lane.

Those left to cherish her memory are one step-son Lynn Lane and wife of Rutherfordton, NC, three grandsons, Gregory B. Lane and wife of New Bern, NC, Jeremy P. Heikkila of Katy, TX, Lawrence Lane and wife of Morganton, NC., one granddaughter , Tracy Kincaid and husband of Morganton, NC., five great-granddaughters, 4 great-grandsons and several nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Joyce will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2020 at Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be held following the service at 12:00 PM in the Chapel of Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home with Pastor Billy Mitchell officiating.

Entombment will be held following the service at Burke Memorial Park of Morganton.

Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home has the honor of serving the Lane family.
