Amanda Lee Watson

Mrs. Watson was born on January 10, 1923 in Watauga County to the late Benjamin Franklin and Fannie Hodge Watson. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Odell Watson, two brothers, and four sisters.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Green Rock Baptist Church.

Those left to cherish her memory are three sons, Roger S. Watson, (Steve), of the home, Tex Stanley Watson, (Chub) and his wife, Barbara, Glenn Dale Watson and wife, Cathy; one daughter, Ms. Penny J. Watson; and one brother, Claude Watson; nine grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; and eight great, great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Watson will be held Sunday, October 23, 2011 at 3:30 pm at Pendry's Chapel with the Reverend Lane Hamby, the Reverend Roger Webb and the Reverend Aldene Wheeler officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until 3:30 pm prior to the funeral service at Pendry's Funeral Home. Interment will be at Blue Ridge Memorial Park in Lenoir, NC.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jack Harris, Kevin Cozart, Nicholas Cozart, Bryson Waters, David Cozart, and Chris Waters. Honorary pallbearers will be Ben Watson, DJ Waters, Joe Stanbury and Randy Waters.
