William Philip Bauer

Bill was born July 25, 1929 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, to Philip Bauer and Anna Schardt Bauer. He passed away June 23, 2015 in El Cajon. He was 85. After graduating from high school, Bill joined the United States Navy where he proudly served for 20 years. After leaving the Navy in 1967, he enjoyed an investigative career with the San Diego County District Attorney's Office and with the California State Contractor's Licensing Board, before retiring in 1991. He married his wife, Janet, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin, on February 23, 1952. He is survived by Janet; his daughter, Pamela Coffin and her husband, Mark; his son, Paul Bauer; and grandchildren, Stephanie Coffin, Kevin Coffin, and Jennifer Bauer. He was preceded in death by his son, Philip, in 2010. His memorial service will be held on July 11 at 11 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church in La Mesa. Private interment will be at Miramar National Cemetery.
