Lloyd was born in rural Minnesota and raised on a farm during the Great Depression. He later moved to California in his 30s and settled in San Diego. A carpenter by trade, Lloyd was admired for his excellent skill and strong work ethic. He was a proud, long-term member of both his local carpenter's union and the Lyon's Club. After retiring from carpentry, Lloyd helped found the Valle de Oro Bank and served for many years on its Board of Directors.
Lloyd (aka "Swede") was known as a good guy with a mischievous sense of humor. He enjoyed spending time with friends, reading the paper while drinking his morning coffee, and visiting with family. His all-time favorite vacation was a cruise to Alaska. Throughout his life, Lloyd enjoyed being outdoors and could often be found fishing the All American Canal.
Lloyd was married to his wife Allie for over 40 years, and together they were an active part of the Casa de Oro business community. Lloyd is preceded in death by Allie and his sister, Angeline. He is survived by his stepson Bill, five nieces, one nephew, five grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. He is truly missed by family, friends, neighbors, and all who were touched by his kindness and humor.
