Our brother Dave rests in peace after a full life and long battle with diabetes. He is fondly remembered for his kindness and generous heart. Dave was the second child of MaryAnn and Edward S. Labadie, USN. His lifelong interest in education began at OLSH , he graduated from Saint Augustine High School class of 1966. Dave enjoyed his job at San Diego Zoo while beginning College. He earned AA Journalism - San Diego City College, BA Sociology - SDSU, AA Labor Studies - Grossmont College, AA History - Miramar College. He attended UCSD striving towards a teaching certificate.
Dave worked for San Diego County Probation Department for 28 years, retired in 2002. He received numerous professional service awards, was an active contributor and volunteer for many organizations including journalism for labor and sports, docent for historical societies. He organized crews for Memorial Day flags project at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery for seventeen years and worked at the voting polls many years. Dave was a nutural leader wherever he served.
His passions extended to photography, many treasure photos "by Dave", and always serving a higher goal of recording history in his travels and studies.
Dave will always be loved by his siblings Elizabeth (Rick), Gail (FL) twin to Gloria, Edward (OR), Tim (Cherri). Gloria and Scott deceased. Also Nieces April, Melissa, Rachel, Aliza. Nephews Ronald, Robert, Bryon, DiAndre, Nolan. Daves faithful little Dog "Scooter" misses him very much too.
Memorial service January 25, 1:30 pm, Glen Abbey Memorial Park Nature Garden, Bonita, CA.
