David Wayne Harmer

David “Dave” Wayne Harmer, 64, was called home by his Father in Heaven, on Friday, February 23, 2018, after battling heart disease and diabetes. Born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota to Donald and Marilyn Harmer he lived most of his life in San Diego, California.

He is survived by his loving and dedicated wife of 39 years, Lily Harmer, sons Roger Harmer, Allen Harmer, Donald (Nave) Harmer, daughter Michelle Harmer, father Donald Harmer and step-mother Nancy Harmer, brother Terry (Denise) Houtkooper, brother Kenny Harmer, sister Kristy Thomas, and many loving grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family. He was preceded in death by his mother Marilyn Harmer and sister Gwendolyn Berklsen.

Dave, an honored U.S. Navy Veteran, was a nostalgic man who loved to share his special memories and experiences with the younger generations of his family. He enjoyed classic cars, fishing, diving, country music, and country western movies. He also loved spending time with his family and his dogs Scooby and Nui.

Dave’s family will celebrate his life privately out at sea off the coast of San Diego. Prayers are welcome and appreciated.
