Randy James Hurst

Randal (Randy) Jackson Hurst II, age 84, of Odenville, Alabama passed away on Thursday, February 3, 2022. Randy was born February 28, 1937. He is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Drake Hurst; parents, Randal and Retha Hurst. He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Randal "Randy" Hurst graduated from Ensley High School in Birmingham in 1955. He served four years in the Marie Corps. After honorable discharge worked with Rath Meat Packing Company for several years, then was employed with Vermeer Equipment. He found his calling with construction equipment and joined Warrior Tractor and Equipment selling John Deere heavy construction machinery after many successful years, He retired. Randy was an avid outdoors man, living on 85 acres of his family homestead in Branchville/now: Odenville. He loved to hunt and fish. He once said "I love the change of seasons going from fishing to hunting season". He had lots of friends, was a good neighbor, loved by many and will be missed by all. A memorial service will be held Feb. 27 at 2pm at his home
