Michael Ray Maddox

Mike was born February 3, 1951 in Leeds where he graduated, lived and attended to the then Boy Scouts of America and Explorers groups where he performed many civic and community services.

Mike continued his community and Christian service as he and Deb helped to establish and build the Springville Road Community Church. Mike stayed involved with the Boy Scouts for most of his life by serving as Assistant Scout Master of Presbyterian Boy Scouts of Huffman for many years and as Scout Master of the Clay troop for 10 years.

Mike worked for many years in the Jefferson County School system in the Pinson Valley School district from which he retired.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Geraldine Maddox of Leeds and is survived by his wife of 50 years, Deb; their son, Will (Carrie); grandson, Wesley Maddox; brother, Bart Maddox (Shelia); in laws, Sharron Knox (Mack), Cynthia Alldredge (Darrell) and Hal Moore.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at Kilgroe Funeral Home, Leeds from 12:00PM until 2:00PM with a graveside service to follow at Sulphur Springs Cemetery in Trussville, AL.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Franklin Graham Ministry Samaritans Purse.
