Maurice Carroll Taylor age 90, current and previous long time resident of Moody, St. Clair County and Holly Pond, Cullman County, from 1980 to 2011 died January 3, 2013 of complications of Parkinson’s Disease. He loved his Creator, his family, the land and mules. He never wanted people to forget the role the mule played in developing our Nation and our way of life. He drove a transfer truck for bread companies most of his working life, usually at night, and farmed by day.
He was predeceased by his wife of 67 years, Mary Frances Burnham Taylor, his parents, two brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include: Gail Smith, friend and companion; brother - Finus Max Taylor (Patty); Children – David Carroll Taylor (Molly); Van Allen Taylor (Rachel); James Samuel Taylor; Mary Cathryn Taylor Karr (Steve) – Grandchildren – Christina Taylor Bushnell (Dagan); Kevin Taylor (Cammie); Lisa Lee; James Shannon Taylor (Meridith); Patrick O’Neal Taylor (Cassie); Stephen David Karr (Tiffany), nine great-grandchildren, sister in law, Liz Burnham Fowler, several dear nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Visitation will be Sunday, January 6, 2013 from 2 PM until 4 PM at Kilgroe Funeral Home in Leeds.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, January 7, 2013 at 11 AM at Acmar Methodist Church with burial at Forest Crest Cemetery.
