Mary J. Pitts, age 87 of Trussville, AL passed away February 18, 2012. Mrs. Pitts lovingly known as “Mamu”, was 87 years young and lived a full life. She always cared about others and said her three primary goals in life were to be a wife, mother and nurse.
She accomplished all three and was ready to go home to be with her Lord. Mamu was born January 26, 1925 and was married to Connie Pitts for 57 years before he died in 2002. Mamu was also preceded in death by her oldest son Mike in 2004, her mother Sara Ledbetter, and sister Eleanor Ussery. Mamu is survived by her sons, Stan Pitts and his wife Anne of Anchorage, AK, Kelley Pitts and his wife Cheryl of Trussville, and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed and cherished.
A brief graveside service will be held Saturday, February 25 at 10:00 AM at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Leeds.
