Kay Fleming Lee, 78, passed away May 1, 2023. Kay was born on July 4th, 1944 in Birmingham, Alabama. Kay was a graduate of John Herbert Phillips High School and went straight into the workforce. Eventually, she became a stay at home mother and went on to work at Jefferson State Community College. She then became a legal secretary at a local law firm and worked there until retirement. Kay loved all things flamingo, crime shows, cooking shows and relaxing in the sun with a cold Icehouse. She was a feisty woman who loved cooking for her family and friends. Most famous for her potato salad, dressing, fudge and seafood dip, Kay was an excellent cook. She was known for her quick wit and one liners. Kay loved playing bridge with friends, working crossword puzzles and was a huge fan of Family Feud. She was a strong woman who never let circumstances get in her way. We all loved her immensely and will miss her every day. The imprint she left on others will never be forgotten. She is survived by her daughter Allison (Jeffrey) Davis and son Adam Lee; grandchildren Garrett Davison and Julia Davison; nieces Paige (Kim) Battles, Leigh (Rick) Sweeney, Michelle (Rodney) Clark, Melanie (Kevin) Lowe; great nephews Zachary (Caton) Battles, Sam Brazell, Taylor (Dawn) Clark and family, Christian (Raegan) Clark and family, and Parker Lowe; great nieces Lindsey Battles, Caroline (Justin) Kyle and Anna Claire Lowe. She was preceded in death by her parents Samuel Alman Fleming and Veda Victoria Fleming, her sister Floyce Fleming Adams and her infant sister Carole Jean Fleming. Visitation will be at Kilgroe Funeral Home in Leeds, Alabama on Sunday, May 7th from 12-2 pm with graveside service at New Hope Cemetery at 2:30.
