He was preceded in death by his parents Ray and Louise Kile, father in law John Leopard, and his son Justin Kile.
He was an active supporter of his alma mater Leeds High school where he played multiple sports and was involved in numerous clubs and activities.
He entered a life-long career in law enforcement with his entry into the Mountain Brook Police Department in 1974. In 1982 he moved to the Moody Police Department where he advanced in rank from Captain to his final position there as Chief of Police. During his tenure as a police officer he was a member of the first Special drug task force.
After his retirement from the Moody Police Department he was elected to the Leeds City Council in 2008 where he served for four years.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years Vicki Leopard Kile; sons: Ben Kile and Sam Kile (Jennifer); daughters: Tyler Plunkett (Alex) and Jordan Kile (Devin). Mother in law: Ann Leopard. His most precious title of Pop was given to him by his grandchildren: Daniel Sims, Caleigh Kile, Gavin Plunkett, Emma Kile, Lanie Kile and Addyson Plunkett. Sisters: Jackie White (Kelly), Jimmie Ann Moore (Ron), and Judy Gann (Jody). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Although many remember him for his athletic ability the family remembers his legacy as a servant that always helped others.
