Jerry E Langston

Jerry Elbert Langston age 85, of Birmingham, AL born on June 7th, 1938 went to his heavenly home on October 16th, 2023 while surrounded by loved ones. He is preceded in death by his parents, Elbert Eugene Langston and Mary Mildred (Polly) Durbin, and son-in-law Charlie Saunders. Jerry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and a Marine Corps Veteran. Jerry and Terry were the first set of twins in the state of Alabama to both enlist into the Marine Corps in 1959. Jerry was awarded military honors for sharp shooting and good behavior before being honorably discharged in 1964. He then retired from trucking after 53 years in 2017.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 65 years, Shirley Ann Langston, whom he loved with his entire heart. He is also survived by his twin brother Terry Langston (Joyce); daughter, Donna Saunders, sons, Micah Langston and Dwayne Langston (Tonya); grandchildren, Chet (Alicia), Clint (Krystal), Chip (Kristy), Brooklynn (Tanner), Brannon, and Brianna; great grandchildren, Autumn, Cayden, Connor, Bella, Cooper, Kyeson, Ella and Ephraim; numerous nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews, all who were very precious to him. Family was everything to Jerry.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 19th, 2023 at Kilgroe Funeral Home, Leeds from 6:00PM until 8:00PM. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 20th, 2023 at Kilgroe Funeral Home, Leeds beginning at 1pm with burial to follow.

Jerry lived a life of service: to his country, his community and his family. He was a loving son, brother, father, grandfather and husband. He will be dearly missed.
