James Lucas Jones

He was preceded in death by his grandmother Judy Burks, grandfather Earl Albin, grandfather Mike Brooks, step grandmother Gene Smith, and stepbrother Timmy Smith Jr.

He is survived by his mother Pamela Jones, stepfather Tim Smith, sister Julia and stepbrother Nicholas Smith, grandmother

Pam Brooks, grandfather Wendal Burks, step grandfather Walton Smith, and many aunts and uncles and cousins.

He was born April 11, 2007 in Birmingham Alabama. Up until the age of 4 he lived as a normal little boy. He was outdoors all the time, playing with his big sister and her friends, charming everyone he came across with his cute boyish personality.

After the accident, he was met with a life full of hardships daily. Every challenge he had to deal with he dealt with it with patience. He never should have had to have the amount of patience he did, but that is just how tough James Lucas had to be as just a kid. He lived over 10 years of his life trapped in a body that couldn’t do what he wanted to do, but inside he was still that same sweet, charming, and kindhearted little boy. His favorite thing to do was roll over on his mat and get snuggly and watch his favorite shows!

He attended Leeds Elementary School and Leeds Middle School. He had so many teachers and therapists who helped him try to improve his communication. His teachers provided so much support and care to him throughout his years at school. He touched the lives of so many people in his own short life, and he will remain in our memories as a tough, amazing kid whose life was ended too soon.

The family will be receiving visitors from 10am-11am on December 29th with the Memorial Service to follow at Kilgroe Funeral Home 1750 Ashville Road, Leeds AL 35094.
