Billie was a wise and loving mother to four children and a caring sister to her six siblings. She enjoyed dancing, fishing, playing cards and traveling. She was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Cropwell.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James Craty Corbett, Sr. and two grandsons, Infant Son Goolsby and Donald Ray Goolsby; parents, Jim and Mary Frances Alverson Campbell; sisters, Cora Goodwin Howard, Evelyn Jones and Mary Ratliff Fox; brothers, Roy and Leonard Campbell.
Billie is survived by her children, Saundra Goolsby (Jimmy) of Irondale; Suzanne McCulley (Robert) of Trussville; Sharon Praytor (Dan) of Irondale; and James “Buddy” Corbett, Jr. (Becky) of Cropwell; grandchildren, John Goolsby, Mikal McCulley, Justin McCulley, Daniel Praytor, April Chamberlain, Niki Hovanec, Josh Corbett; ten great grandchildren; brother, Jim Campbell (Harriet) of Leeds; and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff and caregivers of Evergreen Assisted Living (St. Martin’s), Dr. Harold Simon and Evercare Hospice. A special thanks to private caregivers and friends Daphne Fenil-Waters, Carol Greene, Lois Biffle and Bri Fenil.
Visitation will be held at Kilgroe Funeral Home in Leeds, Alabama on Monday, March 10, 2014 from 6 PM until 8 PM.
Celebration services will be held at Kilgroe Funeral Home Leeds Chapel on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at 11 AM with burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Leeds, Alabama.
