Frederick 'Freddy" Ferguson

Freddy “Fred” Ferguson, age 77 passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2023 in Birmingham, Alabama. Born on October 29, 1946 in Cook Springs, Alabama. Freddy was a beloved husband, father , grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, and brother. His greatest joy was being a Pawpaw. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Joyce; daughter, Pam Williamson (Kevin); son, Scott Ferguson (Amy); grandchildren, Amber Edgeworth (Scott), Marissa Sewell (Luke), Nick Ferguson (Jessica), Emily Moore (Will), Chris Ferguson (Hanna), and Nathan Ferguson. He leaves five great grandchildren, Brantley and Bryson Edgeworth, Adalyn, Haisley and Walker Ferguson; his mother-in-law, Alice Raughton; brothers, Larry Ferguson (Sandra), Melvin Ferguson, along with several nieces and nephews mourn his loss. Freddy is preceded in death by his father, Melvin Ferguson, Sr.; mother, Joyce Ferguson and father-in-law, James Raughton. Freddy was a member of Cook Springs Baptist Church. He served in the Alabama National Guard where he proudly served his country. During his career, Freddy worked at Stockholm Valve for 30 years before retiring. There will be a visitation at Kilgroe Funeral Home 1750 Ashville Road Leeds, Alabama, Saturday, December 16, 2023 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be Sunday, December 17, 2023 at 2:00 PM also at Kilgroe Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Cook Springs Cemetery. Services directed by Kilgroe Funeral Home, Leeds, Alabama.
