Dennis Johnson

Dennis Wesley Johnson, 64, of Moody, passed away on June 21, 2019, after a courageous battle with cancer. Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2019, at Moody Chapel with Pastor Matt Scott officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Crest Cemetery with Kilgroe Funeral Home directing. The body will lie in state two hours prior to services at the church.

Dennis graduated from the University of Alabama in 1977 with a degree in Marketing. He worked at AT&T for 37 years before retiring in 2015.

Dennis loved his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and was an active member of The Gathering Place Church in Moody, where he served on the Leadership Team. He was also a Gideon, serving with St. Clair West Camp of the Gideons International. Dennis especially enjoyed participating in the Gideon Bible distributions.

Always enjoying sports, Dennis played golf, was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed attending University of Alabama football games to cheer on his beloved Crimson Tide.

Dennis will be forever remembered by his wife of 40 years Vickie Johnson; his son Todd Johnson (Amber); his parents, Wesley and Jeanette Johnson; his sister, Becky Duncan (Charles); and his brother, Stephen Johnson (Donna). He will also be remembered by his numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
