Dean served in the US Coast Guard and served as a reserve with the St. Clair Sheriff's Department.
He is preceded in death by his father, Alfred H. Ratliff; mother, Mary F. Baldwin; sister, Gail Ratliff; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Ratliff and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Campbell.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Ratliff; son, Robert (Bobby) Dean Ratliff; Dean also considered Judy and Jim Imhof, JoAnn and Dan Cohen, Jerry and Doris Kreidler, Ann Kreidler, and his many nieces and nephews as his family.
The family will receive friends at New Lebanon Church on Saturday from 11AM to 12PM.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 07, 2018 at 12PM at New Lebanon Baptist Church, 169 New Lebanon Road, Springville, AL 35146.
