He is preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Gilpin; son, Darrell Champion, Jr; sister, Gail Potts; step-son, Ranyall Henderson; and grandson, Joseph Henderson.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Champion; daughter, Judy Wilson; step-daughter, Jane Howard; son, Curtis Scott Champion; grandchildren, Josh Henderson, Crystal Gray. Stephanie Howard, Alonna Champion, Savannah Champion, Jonathan Grounds, Misty Bannister and Shawn Pike.
The family will receive friends Saturday, March 31, 2018 from 10AM to 11AM at Kilgroe Funeral Home Leeds Chapel with a funeral service to follow at 11AM. Burial will take place at Clements Family Cemetery in Oneonta, AL.
