Sidney Marilyn Simpson

Our dear Sidney Marilyn Simpson, much loved wife of Lou Lesperance, passed away on January 26, 2022, while in the Leduc Community Hospital. Sidney was born to Gladys and Frank Kenny in Winnipeg, MB.

She was the beloved mother of Morgan McLennan (Norine) of Green Lake, BC, and Fraser McLennan (Amy) of Winnipeg, MB. Sidney’s sisters Joanne of Edmonton, AB and Valerie of Winnipeg, MB will miss her always. She was much loved by four grandchildren, Forrest (Kristy), Durell (Holly), Nicole (Eric), Malcolm (Danika) and by step granddaughters Julia & Emily. Sidney had six great grandchildren, Ryker, Aspyn, Maverick, Marleigh, Emmie and Gwen and several nieces and nephews.

She is also survived by Lee’s daughters Pamela & Kelly as well as Lou’s sons Tony (Kelli) and Blair (Lynn).

She was predeceased by her husband Lee Simpson in 2000.

Sidney enjoyed her community in Leduc and had many good friends. She was an active member and volunteer at St. David’s United Church, Leduc Heritage Grain Elevator, and the Korean Veterans Association. Sidney’s family and friends will miss her kindness and warmth.

A celebration of her life will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
