Pat was born September 4, 1944, in Edmonton, Alberta to parents John and Vera Kolt. Pat was the oldest of three children.
Pat was raised in the Sunnybrook and Warburg area. In her early years she owned the Sunnybrook Hotel, she was experienced in farming which included custom combining and milking upwards of 145 cows while looking after other farming activities. After leaving the farm she continued to live and raise her three children as a single parent. At that time Pat accepted jobs like cooking at the local restaurant, road construction in the summer and caretaker at the Warburg Arena in the winter. Pat went back to school and completed her schooling in 1986 to become a Health Care Aide. She also completed her courses in 1995 to be able to work with pigs at Gollnick Farms. Pat stayed busy continuing to work in health care on and off, got a little adventurous working in oilfield camps away from home, managing campgrounds for a few years during the summer months and back to the arena and health care until retirement. Pat had a passion to be a carpenter and a gardener and loved spending time outside. She also loved camping, fishing, floor curling and dancing. Pat was known to be a hard worker and was afraid of nothing. Most importantly, she had many friends along the way and was grateful for the opportunities she was given.
Pat will be remembered by her three children, Pam (Rob) Wenzel, Robert Worshek (Angela Chambers), and Trish Lafreniere (Kelly Klein). Pat also leaves behind five grandchildren: Jace, Rylee (Evan), Colton (Nicole), Sydney (Kohlton), Coby. Pat is also survived by her sister Carman Kolt and brother Allan (Edie) Kolt, her nieces and nephews. Pat was predeceased by her daughter Valerie Albert and her parents John and Vera Kolt.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, July 4 at the Warburg Community Hall at 1:00pm. A private family interment will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations if one so desires may be made to the Warburg Hockey and Skating Arena Club or the St. Charles Catholic Cemetery.
Expressions of gratitude and love are graciously extended to those who were always checking in and helping to make Pat’s final days pleasant.
