Lou was predeceased by his wives, Kathleen (Kay) and Sidney.
He served in the Canadian Armed Forces for 32 years from 1948 to 1980. Serving with the Lord Strathcona’s Horse Regiment in Korea in 1953/54. Then joined the RCAF in 1954. He was an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion – Leduc Branch 108, Korean Veterans Association - Edmonton Unit 21, Lord Strathcona’s Horse Regimental Association, the Air Force Association of Canada and the Aboriginal Veterans Society of Alberta.
After Leaving the Canadian Armed Forces Lou and Kay settled in Leduc. Soon after he joined the Leduc Fire Department as a volunteer. He served in many roles and retired as a Captain.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 AM, on Saturday December 14th, 2024, in St. Michaels Catholic church in Leduc, Alberta. A Celebration of Life will follow at the Telford House in Leduc
If friends so desire donations may be made to a local Veterans Food Bank, the Leduc Legion Branch 108, Poppy Fund or the Canadian Cancer society.
