Joseph George Slackus III

Joseph George Slackus III, 76, passed away at the Lebanon VA Medical Center on Wednesday, March 26, 2025. He was born on September 1, 1948 in Pottsville, PA. to the late Joseph G. Slackus Jr. and Alice (Tipping) Slackus.

Joseph was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He continued to serve his country after active service as a security officer for the Gap, among other locations.

He is survived by his children, Steve (Selena) Slackus, Stephanie Seiders and Stacie Slackus; grandchildren, Chaylee, Cora, David, Dawson and Dylenah; and sister Theresa Baucum. He was preceded in death by his former wife, Rayne Slackus; a son, Sam Slackus; a sister, Jacqueline Young Slackus and brother, Dennis Slackus.

Per Joseph’s wishes, a private interment will take place at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
