Colonel John B. Moyer Jr., (USAR retired) 81, of Cornwall died Sunday, July 29, 2012, in his residence. He was the husband of the late Doris S. Moyer to whom he was married for 51 years. He was born in Pottsville, PA on September 17, 1930, son of the late John B. Moyer Sr. and the late Mayme Tobias Moyer. He was a graduate of Orwigsburg High School, Millersville State College, University of California Berkeley, Command & General Staff College in West Point and obtained a master's degree in public health. He served as a radio operator in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and retired as a Colonel from the US Army Reserve, where he was commander of a Combat Hospital Support Unit. He retired as a Regional Director from the Pennsylvania Dept. of Environmental Resources, and as the Executive Director of the Greater Lebanon Refuse Authority, and also worked at the South Hills Golf Course. He is survived by his daughters: Debra wife of Dean L. Mease, Cornwall; Patricia wife of William R. Daubert II, Cornwall; grandsons: Alex and Timothy Daubert, Wash. D.C. and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister Louise Lopez. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11:00 AM in the Zerr Chapel of Cornwall Manor, Cornwall where a viewing will be held at 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment with full military honors will be held in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Assoc., 3544 N. Progress Ave., Suite 202, Harrisburg, PA 17110. The Rohland Funeral Home, Lebanon is handling the arrangements.
