Janet (Nettie) S. Weise, 91, of Lebanon, passed away at Palmyra Senior Living on Sunday, August 20,2023. She was born in Lebanon on February 28, 1932, a daughter of the late Andrew E. and Verna E. ((Benfer) Schell. Nettie was the wife of the late Lawrence P. Weise who passed away 3/24/1982.
Nettie was retired from Hershey Chocolate Factory where she worked over 40 years. She held numerous positions, but loved working in the wrapping dept. most of all.
Surviving are her loving daughters, Gail A. Kelly, Cindy L. Eisenhauer (Jeffrey), Lori A. Weise, all of Lebanon and Holly A. Bomgardner of Fredericksburg, grandchildren, Kolin and Ben Kelly, Jenna Eisenhauer, Lauren Eisenhauer, (Tommy Long); 5 great grandchildren. Nettie was preceded in death by an infant son, Lawrence F. Weise, son in law, Richard C. Kelly. She was also preceded by two brothers, and three sisters.
During her childhood and teens, Nettie was a gifted roller skater who could do the difficult Mineola Swing, waltz and two step. She had a newspaper route, and enjoyed sneaking into the Jackson Theatre with her girlfriends to see Cowboy movies. She loved the roller coaster at Hershey Park.
Nettie and her sister and best friend, Fay enjoyed many yearly trips to Las Vegas and bus trips to Atlantic City with her daughters.
She enjoyed accompanying her sister Marion to nursing homes while her sister played the piano.
She enjoyed helping her daughters get ready for many events at Hilltop Playground across from their home.
Her daughters will remember how selfless, loving and generous she was, always making sure her family came first. Nettie prided herself in raising her daughters to be self reliant. Her grandchildren adored her easy going ways.
A gravesite service will be held at Kochenderfer Cemetery, Lebanon on Friday , August 25 at 10:30 am. Meet at the cemetery. A Celebration of Life/Luncheon will immediately follow at All About You Catering, 302 E. Lehman St., Lebanon. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to The Alzheimer’s Association, Greater Harrisburg Chapter in her memory.
