George H. Snyder, Jr., 76, Lebanon died Wednesday November 30, 2011 in the Harrisburg Hospital. He was the husband of Alice J. Hollinger Snyder with whom he would have celebrated a 57th wedding anniversary on December 17th . He was born in Lebanon on March 29, 1935 a son of the late George H. Snyder, Sr. and Ester Gingrich Snyder Light. He was retired from the Hershey Foods Corporation with 43 years of service. He served in the U. S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. George was a member of the Liberty arching Club; PA State Fireman’s Association; PA Southeaster Association; Gooseneck Association; Annville American Legion; Annville Amvets; 40 and 8; Local 464 of Hershey; Beneficial Society Victor Emanuel II Men’s Social Club. He and his wife enjoyed spending many summers at the beach in Millsboro, DE with many friends. In addition to his wife he is survived by children: George H. Snyder III, Lebanon; Georgianna wife of Jeffrey Leininger, Lebanon; Lynda wife of Ron Crater, Lebanon; Kathymarie wife of Robert Frederick, Jackson, MN; grandchildren: Angi, John, Charlotte, Brandon, David; 6 great-grandchildren; brother: Lester Snyder, Lebanon; several nieces. He was preceded in death by a brother: Lynford Light. Funeral services will be Monday 9:00 A.M. in the Rohland Funeral Home, 508 Cumberland St., Lebanon, PA 17042 where a viewing will begin at 8:00 A.M. Interment will be made in the National Cemetery at Ft. Indiantown Gap at 11:00 A.M. with full military honors.
