Georg Rudolf Panol, 92 of Cornwall, PA passed away on February 6, 2024. He was born in Heidefelde, Germany to the late Margarete and Hans Panol. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Rosa Panol; his son Georg Panol and daughter-in-law Jaime Spitler of Annville, PA and their daughters Eva and Celia Panol; his daughter Susanna Giering and son-in-law David Giering of Downingtown, PA and their daughter Felicia Giering. He is survived by his sister, Margaret Richter of Rantoul, IL, as well as several nieces and a nephew.
Georg grew up during World War II in Germany and had to flee, becoming a refugee when the Russian troops invaded. Anyone that knew him would have been regaled by his many interesting stories of his life. He was an artificial organ research scientist that began his career in Germany and moved to the United States in his twenties to work at Emory University in GA. He later continued his career at Brown University in RI and eventually retired from Penn State Medical Center.
He loved traveling all over the world and being active outdoors, as well as his adventures driving several German cars and motorcycles. However, it was his family that brought him the most joy and fulfillment. He instilled his curiosity of exploring different places and enjoyment of nature while showing his utmost love and dedication to his family.
The family will have a private funeral and requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Health Center at Cornwall Manor which took care of Georg during his illness and in his final days.
