Anthony Ralph Spangler (Tony), age 80, of Lebanon, Pennsylvania passed away in the comfort of his own home on Saturday, October 14, 2023 with his family by his side. Tony was married to his beloved wife, Michele Spangler, to whom he was a dedicated and loving caregiver. He was born in Rome NY, on February 8, 1943, a son of the late Ralph and Elnora Spangler. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a 1961 graduate of South Lebanon High School. He worked many years as an offset printer for Lebanon Valley Offset (LVO) and Tursack Printing. His passion for the civil war is an example of Tony's appreciation for the past, both distant and recent personal memories. His love of riding motorcycles evolved into a life of riding his Harleys any chance he could. With one eye on all the roads behind him, and one eye on the pavement in front of him, Tony steered those handlebars down his own path of life. Tony is survived by his daughter: Tammy and husband David Gruber; and step-daughter (who was also like a daughter to him): Kirsten and Eric Chapin; as well as sister: Patricia (Pat) Roeske. Tony is also survived by 5 grandchildren: Alyssa Spangler, Miranda Snyder, Drew Chapin, Kyle Chapin, & Brooke Chapin. Tony was preceded in death by his son: Terrell Spangler and brother: Ralph Spangler. Services will be held at Gingrich’s Mennonite Church, 100 Forney Rd, Lebanon PA at 10:00 AM on Wednesday Oct 25, 2023. Following the services there will be a procession and interment at the National Cemetery at Ft. Indiantown Gap.
