Alice L. Jenkins (Mattis), beloved spouse, mother, sister, and aunt, graduated to heaven on April 1, 2025, at Celebration Villa in Lebanon, PA, at the age of 73. Alice was born on March 10, 1952, in Reading, PA. She is survived by her daughter, Brooke D. Jenkins, and her son-in-law, Doug. Additionally, she is survived by her sisters, Dolores Basselgia, wife of Bruce, and Deborah Carl, wife of Scott. Alice also leaves behind two grandchildren, one great-grandchild, a niece, Chelsea Fair, wife of James, and two nephews, Tony Basselgia and Scott Carl, Jr., and his wife, Taylor, as well as a great-nephew and great-niece. She was predeceased by her daughter, Heather Beck, and her soulmate and life partner, Stephen Batdorf. Alice was a 1970 graduate of Lebanon High School. In her earlier years, she was a stay at home mom and raised two beautiful daughters while residing in Miners Village, Cornwall, PA. During the middle years of her life, Alice's career centered around her love for animals. She worked as a veterinary assistant for Penn Paddock Equine Center in Annville. Along with horses, Alice loved and adopted two dogs without homes: her beloved pets, Sniper and Nick. With her wry sense of humor, Alice often expressed that she liked animals more than people. Alice leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter. She had a unique ability to add humor to every situation and held her family and friends close to her heart. Her family wishes to thank the staff of Celebration Villa for their kindness and exceptional care during the last year of Alice's life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society of Lebanon County or the Animal Rescue League of Berks County.
