William Foy Justice, Jr., affectionately known as "G-daddy," a lover of hard work, road trips, making anyone and everyone feel loved, biscuits & gravy, rowdy cards, and bear hugs, has winged his flight to Paradise where he happily joined his beloved wife, Yvonne Justice, and two sons, Michael Justice, and Steven Justice. He left this earthly life on January 1st, 2021 at the age of 96.
The only thing sweeter than his sweet tooth was his heart. He loved the Bahai faith and would find a way to teach anyone who wanted to listen, and often times even when they didn't.
He met the girl he would later marry when his younger sister brought her new friend home from school. On June 16, 1945 he married his one true love and remained married to her for 73 years, until her death. They lovingly shook hands each anniversary with a simple promise, "I'll give you one more year!"
He spent his entire life learning the value of hard work, beginning at the age of 10 when he began working with his dad. He taught himself how to operate heavy machinery before he was legally allowed to drive a car, and had a love for "movin' dirt." He eventually started a construction company with his eldest son, Michael, where they remained partners until he retired. Even after his retirement, you could often find him driving a Maintainer for whoever needed it. He liked to stay busy and was known for his mantra, "gettin' old ain't for sissies."
Although he did not graduate from high school, he was a voracious reader and when introduced to the Bahai Faith by a bookseller, he immediately recognized the truth of Bahá'u'lláh's message. He embraced the Bahá'í Faith in 1962, and together with his wife served for over 50+ years on various Local Spiritual Assemblies for the Bahá'í Faith, including Austin, Cedar Park and Travis County. They were shining examples of love, compassion, and service.
He is survived by a daughter-in-law, Wendy Justice, three grand-daugthers, Pam Gerik, Patti Justice and Katie Justice, grandson-in-law Jeff Gerik, two great-granddaughters, Susan Jackson and Michelle Jackson, two great-grandsons, Allan Gerik and Justice Gerik, one great-great-granddaughter Samantha Baich, two great- great-grandsons, Jackson Campbell and Conner Kelley, one great-great-great-granddaughter Oaklnn Mckain and countless others who lovingly referred to him as their adoptive father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
The family invites all that knew and loved him to a graveside service on Wednesday, January 6th at 3pm, at Burnet Cemetery, (1001 S. Rhomberg St, Burnet, TX 78611). In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in his name to any charity of your choice. The family will also offer a virtual memorial service on February 17th.
